It’s always a huge effort to support local musician. It may sound easy, but certainly takes time, money and creativity which indeed needs to be appreciated. Radio Suka-Suka has done an incredibly excellent job in promoting wide ranges of Indonesian music to the world by its establishment as an online 24/7 commercial-free radio station.

Having its purpose as a platform for “international listeners to know about variety of Indonesia music that get improved every each time in various genre, from Dangdut, Gambang Kromo, Pop, Orkes, Jazz, Rock, Metal, Disco, House Music, Oldies Song, R n’ B, Rap, Indie, etc”, Radio Suka-Suka has shown a great dedication to support both established and Indie/non-mainstream Indonesian musicians in a non-commercial way, which deserves to be acknowledged and appreciated.

As varied as it is, Indonesian music has undergone a great span of transformation over the years, with the old-timer legendary musicians such as Chrisye, Godbless, and Iwan Fals, to recent ones like Agnes Monica, Gigi and Slank. Radio Suka-Suka has given a great mix of playlist between the two generation, making it to be ‘ear-opening’ to Indonesian music industry as a whole and great place for music references over the time.
